By land, it is of no wonder that the king of the road in the Philippines is the Jeepney. Introduced in post world war II originally made from the Us military jeep left by the Americans. Now, it is the number one means of transportation of the Filipino people. Davao City is abundant of jeepneys and they are visible everywhere like ants. Jeepney fare vary depending how far your destination will be, thus the normal rates are the following:

[Students & Senior Citizen]: P7(minimum) for the first 5 klms.  While regular fare is P8 (minumum) for the first 5 klms.. Additional 1 peso will be charged every 1 kilometer.

Another means of transportation in Davao City is via Taxi. Normal rates are the following;

Taxi Plug down for non-aircon taxi is P26 plus P1 for every 250 mts. and P32 plug down is for the Aircon Taxi, plus P2 for every 250 mts.

Each taxi cab here in Davao is equipped with large size of identification card with the name and picture of the driver. It is highly required for the drivers here to secure one. Non posting of their ID in front is a warrant for reprimand by the government.
